  1. The Saint Mark is a prime example of Renaissance ideals. It exemplifies humanism with the detailed structural accuracy of the main body. Plus the realistic facial details are truly remarkable. The statue is also putting weight on only one leg which is a common tradition amongst Renaissance art. This statue is also unlike middle aged statues due to the fact that it isn't part of the building itself. It is free standing piece on its own it could be removed from the niche and still be a remarkable piece of art work. Overall i think you chose a great example of Renaissance art.

  2. This statue is very humanistic and individualistic. It is humanistic in the way that the proportions of Saint Mark are perfect. It is also humanistic in the way you can see the outline of his body under his robe. The garment doesn't make this statue a rectangle, it actually enhances the beauty of this piece of art. This statue is individualistic because of Saint Mark's facial expression. By looking at this sculpture you can theorize about what Saint Mark felt about what he did. The expressions put feeling and meaning into the stone.
